But He said, “Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the Word of God and keep it.”

                                                                -Luke 11:28

                                Bible has a lot to say about obedience and to love God. In the Ten Commandments, God gives us laws that we should obey and in Deuteronomy 11:26, He sums up like this, “Obey and you will be blessed”. Even in the New Testament through the life of Jesus Christ, we are called to a life of obedience. The Laws given through Moses have been fulfilled in Jesus Christ (Mathew 5). We have to obey the “Law of Christ, the law of love as we read in (Galatians 6) (John 13:34).

Jesus has given us two great commandments of obedience,

                                “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and with all your mind”.

This is the first and greatest commandments.

The second is;

                                “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Mathew 22:36-39)

When we love God we will obey and submit to the Lord. Our desire will be to keep the word of God.

                By meditating the word of God regularly, we receive the power of God to love others as we do love ourselves. Then God will be glorified in our lives. It leads us to receive the blessings in our lives (John13). Our testimony of holiness is a strong witness that God is at work in this world and the Bible tells us that God blesses and rewards our obedience.

                John 14:21 says,

“He who has my commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by the Father, and I will love Him and manifest myself to Him”.

Let us obey the word of God

Submit ourselves to the will of God

Deeply rooted in the word of God.
