Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it Holy. (Exodus 20:8).
God has ordained from creation that one day in seven should be set aside
as holy unto Him, a day for God`s people to cease their usual activities and
devote themselves to physical rest and spiritual renewal (Exodus 20:8). Doing
so will increase our delight in the Lord and enable us to attain new spiritual
heights.
God wants us to remember the Sabbath day and to keep it holy. To keep
that holy meant setting it apart as different from other days by ceasing one`s
labour in order to rest, serve God and concentrate on those things which
concerned eternity spiritual life and God`s honour. To keep Sabbath holy is a
sign that we belong to God.
But many God`s children profane Sabbath, and even pollute it as
Israelites did. (Ezekiel 23:38). God wants us to delight in His ways and honour
Him. By doing so He will help us to ride upon high places of the earth and feed
us with the heritage of Jacob.
