The LORD is
with you, while you be with him; and if you seek Him, He will be found by you.

Chronicles 15:2
Here in this passage we are
called to have a close relationship with God. The prophet Azariah gave the
armies an important warning and encouraged them to stay close with God. Also
God wanted King Aza to know the importance of abiding in the Lord.
“If we seek Him, He will be
found by us”, this is an important principle repeated many times in the Bible.
The idea is that when we draw near to God, He reveals Himself to us. A heart that seeks will find him. Even in
Deuteronomy 4:29 and Jeremiah 29:13, Mathew 7:7, we find that we will find God
if we seek Him.
The converse is also true, if we
forsake Him, He will forsake us. Our life under the control of God is leading
us to receive the desires of our heart.
Even in Israel, for a long time
they have been without a true God, without a teaching priest, and without law.
Through these verses we come to know the bad state of Israel in their
overconfidence and a distance from God. The role of the priests was to teach
spiritual and moral quality of life. When it was neglected the truth about God
declined.
But in their trouble they turned
to the Lord God of Israel, and sought Him, and He was found by them. The
Chronicles used this message from the Prophet Azariah to remind the people that
even if they were not obedient, God would restore them, at the moment they turn
to Him.
We as his children also should
be encouraged by the heart forgiveness and restoration. Though the Israelites
have been faithless and living in a low standard without God’s laws, the
extended mercy of God is revealed in the victory over the Ethiopians.
Man with God finds
God with Him.
Man forsaking
God finds that he is forsaken of God.
So let us seek the God and find
Him. Renewal in our lives is more important than speaking about evil. By taking
positive steps and committed return to God will bring restoration in our lives,
in our society and in our nation.
God bless you
all.
