Lord said to Abram, after that Lot was parted from him, Raise thine eyes forthright, and see from the place in which thou art now, to the north and south, to the east and west; I shall give all the land which thou seest to thee, and to thy seed, till into without end. – Genesis 13:13-14

Here Abraham unlike his brother Lot, looked upon God for all his needs and in all his circumstances. Lots’ great failure was that he loved personal gain. He tolerated sin and chose to live in wicked Sodom. Thus he exposed himself and his family to the immorality and ungodliness of Sodom. It causes spiritual ruin to his family.

Abraham had a right relationship with God and His Will. The land that God promised to give to Abraham was the land of Canaan – (Genesis 12:7, 13:15, 15:7, 18-21).

God promised this land, a great nation through his descendants and a blessing that would affect all the nations of the earth.

When we lift up our eyes we receive not only earthly blessings but also heavenly ones. God also requires obedience, commitment, sincere endeavor, to live a righteous life. Through Jesus Christ we are the true seed of Abraham. Let us receive the promised blessing to Abraham through faith lifting our eyes to God our Father.
