Be clothed with Humility (1 Peter 5:5)
We must know clearly in our hearts and minds that God hates pride. Pride
in our lives will cause God to turn from our prayers and withhold His presence
and grace from us. To be exalted in our own minds and to seek honour and the
esteem of others in order to satisfy our pride is to shut out the help of god.
But for those who humbly submit themselves to God and draw near to Him, there
is abundant grace, mercy and help in every situation of life (Philippians 2:3)
Apostle peter calls us to be clothed with humility (1 Peter 5:5).
Humility must be the mark of all God`s people. It means an absence of pride in
oneself. To be identified as children of God or believers we must act humbly
towards others.
God`s presence goes with those who walk humbly. A greater grace is given
to the humble, but God opposes the proud. (James 4:6) The most zealous of His
children serve the Lord with all humility (Acts 20:19). When we have humility
we esteem others more important than ourselves.
God wants us to come out of pride, self- esteem, superiority, believing
in one’s own merit, and self-importance. Let us be clothed with humble spirit.
