Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make
known among the nations what he has done.
Psalm
105:1
This song sung as a part of the
celebration of David’s bringing the ark of the covenant to Jerusalem.
Remembering the miracles and praising God encourages us to keep living close to
Him.
We give thanks to Him for all
the favours we sing psalms to honour God. For He alone deserves to be called
upon to praise and to rely on. Like David we have to recount the amazing deeds
God has done in the sight of all people. As in many other places in the psalms,
God’s children are told the importance of praising Him in song. The songs should
be sung to Him and not to an audience or merely for one’s own pleasure. Praise
magnifies the Lord attributing power, holiness and glory to Him. Praise also
intensifies an appreciation of the history of redemption. And praise witnesses
to those outside the covenant community.
God’s children should never
forget His marvelous works. It
dishonor’s God when we forget His great works. If we keep them in remembrance
our faith would be stronger and our devotion more fervent.
Through praise and worship there
is deliverance. Praise and prayer are our expressions of devotion to the Lord.
We celebrate God’s past saving
acts, we trusts Him for future deliverance. Let us give a grateful praise of
thanksgiving.
God bless
you all.
Give thanks to the Lord
[For what all we have to say thank you Lord]
Thankfulness to God should be
constant in our lives. We have to recount how we are saved, and the blessing of
righteous living. Praise God for His deliverance and His words. The Psalmist in
Psalm 107 has recorded how God is worthy of all our praises. He deserves our
praise because His endless love never fails.
Give thanks
to the Lord for he is good
Give thanks
for He has redeemed us
Give thanks
for we are delivered from distress
Give thanks
for He is leading us in straight way
Give thanks
for His unfailing love and wonderful deeds for us
Give thanks
for He gives good things
Give thanks
for He hears our cry when in trouble
Give thanks
for He brought us out of darkness and deepest gloom
Give thanks
for He broke our chains
Give thanks
for He breaks down gates of bronze
Give thanks
for he cuts through bars of Iron for us
Give thanks
for He sent His word to heal us
Give thanks
for He rescued us from the grave
Give thanks
for He stilled the storms and waves in our lives.
Give thanks
for He turned desert into pools, and parched ground into flowing springs
Give thanks
for He has given a city to settle
Give thanks
for a fruitful harvest
Give thanks
for He blessed us to greatly increase in number
Give thanks
for he made us wicked to shut their mouths
Give thanks
for the great love of God
Dearly beloved in Christ let us not remain
silent, but praise God always for His loving kindness.
